Primarily used as indicator lights, embedded LED’s are a popular, low-cost, point source lighting method in Silver Flex membrane switches, PCB membrane switches, and Copper Flex membrane switches. Embedded LED’s emit very little heat, and come in a variety of colors,lamp packages and intensity levels.Surface mount LEDs can be bonded into our polyester switch constructions,which provide a reliable,cost effective light source. An even greater variety of lamp packages can be used in PCB Membrane Switches and Copper Flex Membrane Switches, and can be through-hole soldered.However, LEDs create bright spots and are not suitable for overall back lighting of a panel,but rather as indicator lights. LEDs can either be surface-mounted to the circuit layer or be placed on a separate LED layer.
